THIS ISSUE IN BRIEF
◎  A creature is an idea until it gains form, and form requires being seen.
◎  Spider-Man was once a creature too. Fans are what fed him into form.
◎  Creatures are co-creators. Sharing one with a friend, a therapist, a funder is how it eats.
◎  Left alone with only imagination for food, a creature turns to feeding on fear instead.
◎  This week's issue is a full poem, presented whole, no commentary attached.
The full dispatch lives at The Listener’s Path. If this moved something in you — forward it to the person who needed it most.

How To Feed a Creature
A creature is a concept.
Its etymology is in creation,
Otherwise it would not exist.
A creature’s existence
Is reliant on creation,
as its growth is feeding on ideas.
An idea is a creature
Until it becomes another thing.
Until then
A creature is
An abstract creation
Of the mind.
A creature can be everyone’s fear
Ask Candyman, and Okja, and Jaws.
Yet a creature is an idea
Until the creature gains form
And its remains can be seen.
So how does one feed a creature?
With ideas
For where
The creature
Can go.
The Hobgoblin was a creature
That became a creation
Because Spiderman’s world
Is filled with chaos and Venom.
Yet Spider-Man was once a creature
Inspired by a slandered arachnid
Who is too real
And too omnipresent
To be an idea.
So the creature was born
In Spider-Man’s form,
And that creature is fed by its fans.
A creature needs to be seen.
This is another way it feeds,
So feed your creature with fame.
Share your creatures
With your friends
And your therapists
Your partners
And your funders
Because creatures
Love to meet
other creators and creations.
Creatures are co-creators,
So being seen and heard
Painted and designed,
Scripted and sculpted,
Filmed and fabricated,
Allows a creature to feed on the now.
A creature’s favorite food is existence,
And allowing a creature to be
Is a gift to the creatures
We once were.
Creatures are co-creators.
Explore what we’ve done
With their nature in motion…
They are building and boats,
Boot and parachutes,
Planes and Piña Coladas,
Printers and Papers.
All helping creatures
And creators feel good about their ideas.
How do you feed your creatures?
What more can they be?
What sounds can they make?
What futures can they see?
Meeting a creature
Made by its maker
Is a wild conceit called self-sight.
When we know
That our creatures can live
In harmony with other creations,
We can share our creatures with nations.
Before nations
Creatures live in the imagination
And their food can often be scarce.
And when a creature
Is feeding on imagination
It can be eating far too many fears.
So keep fears contained
As creatures love their concepts,
And eating fear’s imagined infinity
Keeps a creature
From meeting better food,
So how do we feed a creature?

CREÅTIVE STEEPING
A creature needs to be seen. Creative Steeping is where you feed one in private, before it ever meets a room.
A melodic journaling portal for hearing the sound of your own thoughts — the exact ideas for where a creature can go, given room to be written, heard, and fed on your own timeline.
As the season turns toward creature features, feed the one that lives in you — in layers, in your own time, before it ever needs an audience.

Creature feature season is here. This one lives entirely in the imagination, waiting to be fed into form.
THIS DISPATCH IS MEANT TO TRAVEL.  ·  PASS IT TO ONE PERSON.
If this arrived for someone carrying a creature of their own, still just an idea, still waiting to be seen — forward it. Every creature is a co-creator, waiting on someone to help it feed.
